This untitled print was etched by Gillray and included as the frontispiece to the 1804 edition of Jane Collier's An Essay on the Art of Ingeniously Tormenting. A version of the book labeled "The Art of Tormenting" open to title page and frontispiece appears on the vacant chair of the wife in Gillray's Matrimonial Harmonics.
