These two drawings may have been part a contemplated response to Sir William Beechey's 1797 painting of George III and the Prince of Wales reviewing troops in Hyde Park. The Prince is quite paunchy as he is shown in numerous drawings in the 1790s such as Fashionable Jockeyship (1796).
